Photography Through Time

Wikipedia describes travel photography as ‘a subcategory of photography involving the documentation of an area’s landscape, people, cultures, customs and history.’ Fair enough! I have now always known what I wanted out of my travels and photography at a particular time because it evolved over the years.
However, it does falls within the descriptive subcategory but not necessarily tell a cohesiveness story. In fact, these images are not just a collection of holiday snaps but result from having an idea of factual rendering along with the flexible to adapt to the environment and conditions. Exhibit is continually updated.

Telling My Story With
More than just Words

I love to explore the world, especially far-flung areas that don’t receive a lot of visitors, and to date that includes forty-eight countries over a span of many years, revisits not included, of which seven have seem me as a long-term resident.

People often ask me “What is it that you do?”, for which there is not an easy answer. In fact, being asked this question makes me uneasy because I don’t know exactly how to respond. There is so much to tell but so little time to explain, and if attempted would be long-winded and boring. So, as with many others, I fall victim to expressing a nearly meaningless capsized version of my life.

This website just reflects my personal exploration into the ‘world of discovery’. No attempt made for a ‘Wow! factor’ through creative expression, just what I’ve been involved in for an extended period of time. Perhaps it conveys some semblance of my personality. What do you think!

One Place

Marina Bay Sands, Singapore (2010)

Sound-man and set manager for a series of events where performers showcase renditions of their respective cultures found throughout Far East Asia.

Lion's Head, Fresnaye (2006)

View from upper Fresnaye, one of Cape Town’s suburbs, situated between Signal Hill and Sea Point in South Africa. We resided here for two years, and origin of many of my hikes.

Grand Baie, Mauritius (2003)

The Grand Baie Post Office (restored) was originally built 1865. Not far from our short-term quarters, it was still in operation during our thirty-day stay.
